Spotlight on PaperSave

PaperSave is a third-party product that integrates into FundWare 7.6 and Financial Edge and allows you to attach source documents to transactions.  For FundWare, integration is currently limited to the Accounts Payable module.

PaperSave uses twain compatible scanners to capture your source documents such as contracts, pricing, requisitions, purchase orders or invoices and then links these documents to Vendor or transaction records in FundWare.  The PaperSave program using MS SQL Server to store the actual images.  The SQL database can reside on any server on your network.  If you do not own a copy of SQL, PaperSave includes a free version, SQL, SQL Express, for use with the program.

There are 4 ways to capture documents using the PaperSave interface in FundWare:  ScanNow, ScanLater, ScanFirst or Email/File System.

ScanNow:  While entering data in FundWare you have one-click access to PaperSave to scan documents to the Vendor or transaction you are working on.

ScanLater:  As you enter and save transactions in FundWare you can print a ScanLater barcode image and then batch scan at a later time.  When you scan, you insert the barcode page as a separator between transactions and PaperSave uses the barcode data to route the images to the correct transactions in FundWare.

ScanFirst:  ScanFirst allows you to batch scan your documents to a Workflow Queue that you can then use to link the scans as you enter transactions in FundWare.

Email/File System:  You can capture email, attachments or any Microsoft Office document using the included PaperSave toolbar within that Office program.  You can also right-click on any supported file type within Windows Explorer and add that file to PaperSave.
